Crocheting the Future
A moment for fashion to slow down. Swap your clothes, browse our pop-up store for pre-loved items, take a crochet hook and join Kaja Pinter in tackling hyperproduction, or give old garments a new life with colourful elements from the festival’s identity. In collaboration with the Izola Reuse Centre (CUP) and the Koper-based studio ‘2. Skica’.

CUP – The Useful Objects Centre is a home to all the small, useful, and only seemingly worn-out items, located in the heart of Izola’s old town centre. For one day during the festival, it will move from the premises of the town’s old bakery to Svetilnik beach, so be sure to bring your grandmother’s old coat; someone might just breathe new life into it.
Studio 2. Skica, near Tito Square in Koper, is a second-hand upcycling design store. Its aim is to encourage local clothing swaps, which in turn lead to more sustainable and responsible fashion practices. At their pop-up store on Svetilnik beach in Izola, you will find unique, carefully selected items, all while our planet breathes a big sigh of relief.
To top it all off, Kaja Pinter, who crochets under the artistic name Kaya’s Magic Hook, will once again be teaching us this year how to pick up a crochet hook and bring your fashion visions to life, while new old clothes will come alive at the neighbouring stall through the elements of this year’s festival visual identity, created by Urška Alič.
