A guided tour of the hidden corners of Izola’s old town centre, with a special focus on Venetian cultural heritage, will be led by members of the Association for Promotion of Italian Identity in Istria, Circolo VitaNova. They will guide you through the town’s streets and bring you closer to Izola’s history, with special emphasis on its Venetian heritage. After exploring sacral and architectural gems, they will present lesser-known attractions and stories, some of which may be unfamiliar even to locals. This will not be a typical walk, but an experience offering a slightly different perspective on the town.
The tour will be conducted in English. The meeting point is by St Maurus Church (Trg sv. Mavra – Piazza di San Mauro, Izola).
The association Circolo VitaNova promotes the Italian identity of Istria, intercultural dialogue, and active citizenship. It is committed to valuing the area’s shared historical, linguistic, and cultural heritage, viewing this as a common asset. At the heart of its activities are civil society cooperation, open dialogue, and attention to topics often overlooked in various public debates.
