The Elephant God / Joi Baba Felunath
Satyajit Ray, India, 1979, 112’
Satyajit Ray, an Indian director, screenwriter, composer, as well as writer, illustrator and painter, is one of the greatest names in the history of cinema. Infused with humanism, his relationship to filmmaking always gave priority to content over form. In his prolific career, Ray made almost forty films. This programme features six of his works from the 1960s and 1970s – some of his most celebrated films, and some less well known ones.
