Young Programmers present: The Umbrellas of Cherbourg / Les Parapluies de Cherbourg 14+
Jacques Demy, France, Germany, 1964, 91', in French with Slovenian and English subtitles
A film about pure and burning young love faced with the bitter circumstances of a harsh reality. This timeless film classic, in which the dialogues are sung, is, as the director put it, a film in song. One of the most colourful and romantic anti-war films of all times.
Curated for the festival programme by a group of twenty young programmers from Slovenia, aged 14 to 18, as part of the Moving Cinema project in collaboration with the Slovenian Cinematheque. With a short introduction by the young curators.
